Don’t go out: Smell good indoors instead

Updated: Jan 10, 2022

Fragrances aren’t only for clubbing or dates. They can be worn wherever, whenever and for whatever occasion. And that includes staying indoors.

Here are five reasons for wearing fragrance at home:

Space for testing

If you’re the sort of person who likes to sample scents for weeks at a time before investing in bottles, then you’re in luck! Time at home means more time for sampling in your own surroundings, free from the worry that the fragrances you’re testing may be offending others around you.

A chance to rock those skanky scents YOU love (that others hate)

For those who live alone or in the company of tolerant noses, home time is the perfect opportunity to rock those nuclear, scandalous fragrances that you wouldn't dare wear to work or on social occasions. Just try not to wind up your other half or kids in the process.

An occasion to wear fragrances “out of season”

Your home, your climate. The beauty of being indoors is that you have complete control over the temperature around you. Which means having the ability to make it hot, cold (air conditioning willing) or somewhere in between. With such power at your fingerprints, you can literally wear any type of fragrance you want at home and get away with it. Regardless of what season it is.

The opportunity to go “old school”

In facing up to a problem like COVID-19, the tempting thing to do is to reminiscence on the past. To long for a world where lockdowns weren’t a thing and people could come and go as they please. Old school fragrances, particularly those on the bright or fresh side, are a great way to relive such memories. To reacquaint yourself with happy moments in what are dismissal times. I've written a blog post on this very theme.

Time to work on yourself

When all is said and done, smelling good is a just a small part of being presentable, so, if you’re cooped up at home, take some time out to work on yourself. Work out, eat well, be kinder to those around those. After all, even the greatest smelling fragrance won’t cover up the smell of an asshole.
