Mr Amber is the fictional embodiment of Mont Blanc’s Homme Exceptionnel: A woody aromatic fragrance from 2008 comprising golden notes of orange, ginger, coffee and amber. A beautiful amber coloured juice with a distinctly amber like smell to it. Something of a hidden gem. The year is 2008. Barack Obama has just been sworn in as the 44th president of the United States and a great summer of sport awaits with the 2008 Summer Olympics. Eagerly anticipating the year ahead is Mr Amber: a 38-year-old Austrian man living and working in Vienna. A friendly and alluring man, owner of an upscale homeware store and a lover of high culture. Fine art, classical music, architecture, literature. All the things that Vienna is famous for. Mr Amber, much as his name suggests, likes his drinks dark and his fashion warm. A coffee drinker with a fondness for ginger coloured clothes and furnishings. A smoothness in his step, Mr Amber is a quintessential people person. As comfortable with perfect strangers as he is close friends and family. A master of intimate encounters who is most at ease when conversing with people up close - a skill that he’s made a living out of. Whilst not a big talker, Mr Amber is brilliant at sparking conversations. Conversations which, whilst short, evoke interest and intrigue. A glimmer of something more to come. A purveyor of home comforts, it's Mr Amber’s job to make people feel at home, which he does with impressive grace and elegance. Drawing people in like a bright burst of orange zest before settling in to his usual sweet, mellow self. Not one to shy away from a formal occasion, Mr Amber lives for the dressed-up moments in life. Theatre outings, gallery openings, balls, weddings. He may not be the richest man out there but he’s certainly exceptional. Or “exceptionnel” as the french say.
