The brief story of Mr Monsieur centres on the eau de parfum concentration of Chanel’s Pour Monsieur. A chypre fragrance from 2016 with prominent notes of lemon, nutmeg and vanilla. Perfect for Christmas.
It’s Christmas day, 2016. A fire is roaring and an old man is sat in an armchair, surrounded by family members. The man’s name is Mr Monsieur and Christmas is his favourite time of year.
Mr Monsieur has grey hair, glasses and a stubbly beard. He’s 61 years old, newly retired and a grandfather of three.
It’s Christmas morning and Mr Monsieur’s grandchildren are playing at his feet, giggling and opening presents. He’s wearing his favourite yellow polo neck jumper and a pair of slippers. The jumper is a deep lemon hue that’s bright and zingy and his slippers are as cosy as can be.
As Mr Monsieur plays with his grandchildren, a warmth to his character shows. A festive glow that glistens gold like nutmeg dusted over eggnog.
Beneath this festive glow lies a sweetness to his personality. A yummy, affable charm that radiates slowly like a vanilla candle gently filling a room.
Mr Monsieur is that lovable father and grandad at Christmas who’s seen and done a lot but still has a story to tell. An older man from a different time whose spirit still resonates in the modern age.
