The story of Mr Ombre centres on Tom Ford’s Ombre Leather: a dark and smoky leather fragrance with sweet nuances of jasmine and orris root. A brooding and mysterious scent that conjures to mind dark thoughts and serious conversation in the evening.
It’s late spring, 2018. Location: Austin, Texas. BBQ season has begun and a smoky breeze hovers: a mix of burning wood and fresh spring air.
A BBQ is underway at a home in Austin on the decking of a gothic garden surrounded by jasmine flowers. The jasmine flowers are blooming and their aroma lend the BBQ a sweet, carnal haze.
Mr Ombre, the mysterious stranger of the BBQ, is a brooding and enigmatic man with a deep gaze and a troubled past. A James Dean double in a leather jacket with a t-shirt underneath, who brings darkness with him wherever he goes.
Leaning in to his acquaintances at the BBQ, Mr Ombre shares a sinister story about his life:
‘I was involved with some bad people’ he exclaims. ‘And we did some bad stuff’.
‘I won’t go into details but things got pretty out of hand’.
As his acquaintances look on with intrigue, Mr Ombre lights up a cigar, which he puffs meditatively. Who is this dark stranger, they ask themselves. Where did he come from? Where is he going? These are the questions that run through your mind when you meet him. The foreboding mystery man that is Mr Ombre.
