Meet Mr Sunny

Updated: Jan 8, 2022

Mr Sunny is a character inspired by Dolce & Gabbana’s first fragrance for men. Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme. A bright and warming aromatic fougere with a zesty top of citrus and lavender and a cosy base of tonka and tobacco. A modern classic and trendsetting fragrance which, at the time of its release in 1994, ushered fougeres in a new direction and laid the groundwork for neo barbershop scents like Jean Paul Gaultier’s Le Male.

It’s early autumn in Lisbon, Portugal. The sky is blue, the sun is shining, and temperatures have started to cool. Mr Sunny, a jet setter in search of autumn sun, is sat in a cutesy café in Lisbon’s Alfama neighbourhood enjoying his first drink of the day. A mood boosting tonic of lemon, orange and herbal extracts. Bright as his own personality.

All around him is the familiar waft of lavender. Its persistent floral and liquorice aroma a fragrant ode to Lisbon’s long, sunny days. A persistence mirrored in Mr Sunny’s own appetite for warm weather.

A lover of blue skies and sunshine, Mr Sunny lives for sunny days and remains firmly rooted in the 1990s: decade of his teenage years. A decade that he still hangs on to in the music that he listens to and the films that he watches.

Reflecting for a moment, Mr Sunny lights up a cigar. Its tobacco sweetness clinging to the air and hanging on the breeze. In his crisp white shirt, Wayfarer sunglasses and boat shoes, Mr Sunny is the picture of timeless elegance. A modern man with classic taste and sensibilities. The living embodiment of Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme.
